For those who would like to see the ORIGINAL VIDEO uploaded by the Quake done Quick community:
• Quake done Quick - Quake done Quickest 2
On 29 December 2024, the Quake done Quick community / @quakespeedrunning has unveiled Quake done Quickest 2, a segmented speedrun by multiple different runners all done in Nightmare difficulty, superseding Quake done Quickest from 2010. The recorded time, in accordance with Quake's timing system, is 10:20, a 69-second improvement over the previous segmented runthrough. Re-recorded here with enhanced-definition textures and audio using JoeQuake 0.17.9 build 8149, mimicking Jozsef's style in Quake done 100 % Quickest uploaded by / @snarfk to YouTube in late 2010.

Technical information:
The raw video files are recorded at 3840x2160 (using 2,25x NVIDIA DSR) in JoeQuake 32-bit Windows client using the UtVideo YUV420 BT.709 VCM Video for Windows (VfW) codec as segmented .avi files not exceeding 1,9 GiB each, using the ULH0 FOURCC code (capture_codec ulh0).
For quality control purposes, jagged edges are smoothed out to the maximum extent conferred by my system specifications using a combination of 8x MSAA and 8x SGSSAA, plus transparency multisampling in quality mode and -1,5 LOD bias for texture filtering.
As the 182 segmented files are losslessly compressed in spite of 4:2:0 chroma subsampling intended for YouTube, they cumulate a total of 307 GiB.
The JoeQuake client is manually closed and restarted after the recording of each level to workaround the total audio silence and subsequent earrape bug during and/or after recording.
The time captions are added as transparent raster images from a template crafted in Inkscape and imported over to Adobe Premiere Pro for editing, one of the very few professional video editing software still supporting VfW codecs for timeline playback and exporting.
Tenacity is used to piece together the PCM 44100 Hz audio in the raw video files before imported over separately to timeline, owing to a bug in Adobe Premiere Pro having no audio waveforms and no audio can be heard when they are imported directly.
The assembled video is exported in Adobe Premiere Pro using the same UtVideo codec mentioned above before being rendered out using FFmpeg with the options below to a 43 GiB .mkv file for uploading:
-r 60 -threads 12 -c:v hevc_nvenc -pix_fmt yuv420p -preset p7 -tune hq -b:v 400000k -qp 1 -rc cbr -rc-lookahead 53 -strict_gop 1 -surfaces 64 -b_ref_mode middle -2pass auto -c:a pcm_s16le -ar 44100 -v verbose
