Bomber Raid is a scrolling shooter developed by Sanritsu and published by Sega in Japan and Europe, and Activision in North America in 1988 (Europe) and 1989 everywhere else for the Sega Master System. In the game, the player takes on the roll of a fighter pilot, and must fight their way through a series of different stages while attacking ships, aircraft, and a variety of land units. Players can collect power ups that increase their weapon damage and movement speed, and they can get up to two wingmen that will shoot in a fixed direction for extra firepower. Players can also use "cluster bombs" to clear the screen of enemies and deal massive damage to enemy bosses. The game offers some excellent sprite work, with a variety of bright colors and decent animations. It also features some fairly decent music, though the main song becomes repitive after a while. The game is, to my knowledge, the last game to officially be released on the Sega Master System.
