Quickplay - Donkey Kong Land 2 [Game Boy]
0Donkey Kong Land 2 is the Game Boy port of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong-Quest developed by Rare and published by Nintendo in 1996. Unlike the original Donkey Kong Land, DK Land 2 is more of a direct port of the Super Nintendo game, and therefore follows the same basic levels and plot points. As in the Super Nintendo version, DK gets kidnapped by King K. Rool, and so Diddy and his girlfriend Dixie go looking for him. Gameplay wise it plays like DKC 2, with Dixie using her pony tail to glide and Diddy playing exactly like he did in DKC 2. The only major differences between the two games is the level layouts (which are somewhat different from the Super Nintendo version), and the graphics and sound, which are obviously lacking here in comparison to the Super Nintendo version. Overall, for a port of Super Nintendo game to Game Boy, it's a pretty good port. The main downside for me is the tiny view point, which makes dodging enemies a lot harder, and the muddied graphics, which suffer quite a bit for not being in color.
