Quickplay - Matchbox Caterpillar Construction Zone [Game Boy]
Construction Zone is a 1999 construction simulator developed by Realtime Associaties, Inc., and published by Mattel Media for the original Game Boy, the Game Boy Color, and Windows. Aimed more a younger children, Construction Zone allows players to operate heavy Caterpillar produced machinary to complete various construction site goals. For example, players can use a bulldozer to remove large boulders from a road, or use a front loader to build an earthen causeway. Graphically speaking, the game is fairly good, though obviously limited by the Game Boy. On the upside, the Music is surprisingly good, and very catchy. Sound design is really solid too, with the player able to use the horn, and all the equipment playing a backing up horn sound when in reverse. It also offers a small schematic of the vehicle being used, which is a nice touch. Overall I think I could still recommend this title, as it's easily affordable and very well made. The version shown here is the Game Boy version, played on a Super Game Boy addon for the Super Nintendo.
