Continuing refinement on Shadows body first starting off with borrowing the flat eye mesh from Bunnie Rabbot and using her substance file to generate a Shadow eye texture set. Then temp applying that to the avatar in CC4. From then I spent most of the rest of the session trying to get a good scale and proportion to the teeth and inner mouth parts so it more closely resembles Sonic Movie universe characters. Last I messed around with a few expressions slides and test motions to see how far I have to go to fine tune this dudes face and expression sets. These all have to be complete before any new bones or fur can be added - in for the long haul here lol.

I gray scaled the skin texture surface just to reduce some of the strangeness of human skin showing up but of course the wrinkle maps are their own diffuse texture so surprise it still looks weird on every extreme deformation that used a wrinkle map lol. I will lose the ability to keep the wrinkle maps when I bring the model back in after adding Shadows spines and tail etc so Im not so concerned with keeping them at this poing - we will hardly ever see the skin surface or normal maps under all the fur.

If you are a CC4 user you may wanna follow this whole process just to keep up with some success stories, missteps and backtracks. There will be plenty of mistakes made I assure you but the point is taking advantage of these pre-rigged humanoids, putting your own new bones and appendages on them and still retaining CC4s built in facial rigging if you are like me, a character modeler/texturer with no animation chops whatsoever. Come along for the journey, this mess is finna be wild!
