Ok, this is going to be some crazy looking, horrid, cursed mess until we clear pass the morphs to Zbrush phase. This time around I am going to attempt to once again hijack a pre-rigged CC4 Avatar (Kevin) and transform him into a functional looking Shadow the Hedgehog. Just like with Bunnie Rabbot this will be my first attempt at morphing the CC4 Kevin model into something this non human like. If you dont wanna see these steps feel free to unfollow for a while but we got quite a few days of ugly to get through before it starts looking anything like the intended character.

Todays session is a very long and boring reconstruction of the forms I had from the right side of the Kevin topology face which I smooshed into a Hedgehog like head form better and basically hand mirror the verts on the other side with a flipped copy of that part I was ok with. Unfortunately the Kevin CC4 model is very highy asymmetrical so I was eventually going to run into this small road block. rather than do two completely unique eye forms and nose shapes Id rather just do my best to hand mirror what was looking reasonably ok. Thats all but the vids long, sorry!

If you are a CC4 user you may wanna follow this whole process just to keep up with some success stories, missteps and backtracks. There will be plenty of mistakes made I assure you but the point is taking advantage of these pre-rigged humanoids, putting your own new bones and appendages on them and still retaining CC4s built in facial rigging if you are like me, a character modeler/texturer with no animation chops whatsoever. Come along for the journey, this mess is finna be wild!
