Sonic Movie Character Development - Shadow Day 012
14Today work was started and wrapped up on the game resolution gloves. After UVing them completed low model, a test fitting was done on the avatar rig back in CC4. The shoes and gloves will obviously need skin weight rework but because CC4 is terrible for skin weight tools I will wait until all face morphs are updated and new bones are ready to be added after avatar export. All of this will happen after an initial texture map is made too because we need to have shadows correct skin color going at least before taking any of these facial morphs seriously.
Again shout out to Frictory 213 and MJ lock on sketchfab for a solid ref to work based off of and a temporary pair of Shadow air shoes which will soon be replaced by my scratch made model. Want my Sonic characters to have a more near future/cyberpunk look vs how they are in the movie franchise. Never sure where the design will head but I will keep chipping away until its complete.

I will not be using either of these nor parts of them in the final construction of my fully rigged Shadow avatar, just using for scale refs and placeholder art for now.
If you are a CC4 user you may wanna follow this whole process just to keep up with some success stories, missteps and backtracks. There will be plenty of mistakes made I assure you, but the point is taking advantage of these pre-rigged humanoids, putting your own new bones and appendages on them and still retaining CC4s built in facial rigging if you are like me, a character modeler/texturer with no animation chops whatsoever. Come along for the journey, this mess is finna be wild!
