Souls-Mite - Episode 2: Shadows Fly Twice

When I went into this one, I was hoping I'd beat three bosses, considering how I managed to beat two last time. In retrospect, it was a mistake to gauge my progress by how many bosses I beat. I'd like to think I made even more progress this time around, but it's really hard to say. Either way, I made it to several new areas this time around.
The Mantis Lords are the boss that left the biggest impression on me from the livestream that put me off Hollow Knight in the first place. Honestly, I have to wonder if the reason why I hesitated to fight them when I first encountered them. In the end, it was clearly all in my head... because their attacks are actually super easy to read, even moreso than the first Hornet fight where her animation and voice cues don't ever remain consistent.
That being said, ending up in Deepnest was a mistake. I finally screwed up and lost my shadow, which cost me well over 1000 Geo. Fortunately, I actually managed to make it all back and then some while exploring the rest of the map. I'm just glad I managed to get the Mantis Jump. I was hoping that the wall climb KI mentioned last time was going to be in the same vein as the one found in the MegaMan X/Zero/ZX games. I'm not really a fan of the ones where you have to constantly press jump and switch back and forth between two walls to gain any height.
I also managed to get a few upgrades at the end of this session. The lantern means that I'm going to be able to check out those dark areas I had to skip earlier. I was also just one piece shy for a health upgrade and a soul vessel upgrade, so I decided to close out by buying one of each from the store up in Dirtmouth. I'm hoping that will make things a little easier moving forward. I've aso apparently managed to open half of the stagway stops in the game, which should make traveling all over the map pretty easy. If anything, I'm a little surprised that I got more achievements this time compared to my first session.
