The weird part about these Hollow Knight streams is that it feels like I just basically waste the first hour. Granted, that seems to be how most Metroidvanias work for me, whether I'm playing them in private or for some kind of an audience. It seems like it takes me awhile to sort of find my groove when it comes to games that rely on exploration like that, especially if I'm coming back with a brand new power-up to test out. And that was definitely the case this time, considering how I got the "ground pound" late into the last stream. It just took me awhile to find the right spot to use it.

On the plus side, I did manage to finally unlock the double-jump. While I was happy with wall-jump mechanic in Hollow Knight, I have mixed impressions when it comes to the "Monarch Wings". On the one hand, the height you get on it is amazing, so it's great for exploration. Unfortunately, there is a bit of a wind-up on it, which means that it's not quite as good for dodging enemy attacks in combat. I guess I'd rather have the former than the latter, but both is always best.

I managed to make a lot of progress this time around. Not only did I fight the Broken Vessel for the double-jump, but I also found the second dreamer. I also managed to make my way to several new areas, which means that I've pretty much almost completely filled out the map at this point. That being said, I am a little ticked off about how the boss fight with the Watcher Knight went down. In the end, switching to Quick Focus like KI suggested ended up winning me the fight easily. Too bad it came at the cost of being able to see where I'm going on the map. I may have to follow their advice about dropping back down to the Longnail badge for the time being, but losing out on that extra attack range is going to SUCK.

I've got several new areas to check out, now that I've finally got the Monarch Wings. At the very least, I'm hoping to find the final dreamer and one more mask piece, so I can get up to a nice, lucky seven hit points once I buy the other piece from the shop. Finding one more badge, to unlock the final notch from the badge store, so I can set up my perfect loadout would also be nice. KI thinks I could potentially finish the game up next time, but I'm not so sure. Not going to lie, the prospect of finishing in the month of November does make me very happy.
