Sound it Out is a creative adventure where I look at a piece of visual art and come up with a tune on the spot on the violin to describe it. Today's subject is a sculpture at a collector's home in the Bay Area, "Herons at Sunset, by wood artist Lutz Hornischer.

As you can see, the art is beautifully set in its surrounding with the textural wall that grounds the artwork and the lighting that accentuates the shape of the shadow as well as almost creating an illusion of a sun at above the piece. Just beautiful, calming, and uplifting... everything we need these days.
