State Of Decay 2 {Part 1} The 'NEW' Educated playthrough...?
5I play State of Decay 2 Juggernaut edition, and this is {part 1} of my second playthrough, the learned playthrough as I have called it due to the fact, I have done my research and I have done my best to learn the game so that this playthrough will be hopefully much more successful. This is the Xbox One version of the game, and all gameplay footage was captured using the Xbox One's built-in capture feature. It is captured at a resolution of 720p but I then upscale the image to 1080p for the best image I am able to get using the limited equipment I have. I hope it is okay for now but I do intend to upgrade my equipment in the future so I can get the best quality imagery and sound possible! This episode starts off with the tutorial section being rejected and instead being given the option to pick our starting characters. We have the choice of three survivors that we can look through all the options and find the people with the stats and the specialised skills we want for this playthrough. I decided to choose a gardener, a mechanic and for my last pick I went with someone that has the recycle skill as I feel these will be a good choice for the playthrough I have in mind. We are also going to be going back to Provenance Ridge due to the familiarity I have from the previous playthrough and it's the location I chose to do my research on. Oh, and I went with the standard difficulty as I am still not totally certain how the playthrough will go especially since most of the learning about the game I have done has been reading
forums and watching YouTube tutorials as well as the information posted in my comment section. The game begins and my first port of call is to go to the petrol station that's actually closer to the start location than the home base and I do this so that I can get the fuel I need for the car so we can drive it straight up to the home base. Thats one important job done with and out of the way so I can focus on much more important things. We also get some base supplies from the petrol station that we bring to the home base also which really makes it a good first decision if I do say so myself lol. Once we have claimed the home base and we have scouted out all the local locations with our binoculars we get a radio call and agree to retrieve some plague samples for a group of survivors in our local area. Taking the car, we meet up with the survivors at their location and we accept the mission officially and set out. Arriving at the house containing a plague heart i decide to just get the samples needed to complete the objective and leave the plague heart itself for another time. I just want to stay focused on the immediate task at hand so as to keep things as simple as possible for as long as possible. Taking the samples back we complete that specific task and do some trading with our new friends. This is the first time I have done trading, so we keep it simple and just sell off a few items. Feeling like we are at a good place I head back to our home base and unload the spoils that were collected during the mission. The episode ends here, and we are doing okay so far... So far so good!! Let's see how the next few pans out for us. Good planning and focus are the keys to success for this game and that is how I plan to play it.
