I play as Bowser Jr. for Classic Mode in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and there is one thing I want to go over, in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, Bowser Jr. is an unlockable character, to unlock him, you have to complete Classic Mode with Bowser on Intensity 6.0 or higher, or play 100 Vs. Matches, but in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Bowser Jr. is one of the four characters that is unlockable in the 3DS version and is on the starting roster in the Wii U version, the other three being Ness, Jigglypuff, and Ganondorf.
I might as well go over Classic Mode, in Rounds 1 to 3, you go up against characters with their default costumes and special moves, and in Rounds 4 to 5, you fight characters that use their alternate costumes and custom moves, Bowser Jr. is the only character that does not use an alternate costume in Classic Mode, this is likely because the Koopalings are alternate characters, meaning Bowser Jr. himself does not have any alternate costumes. In Round 6, you go up against the Fighting Mii Team, and at the end, you fight Master Hand, and depending on the difficulty, you fight Crazy Hand alongside Master Hand, or on a higher Intensity, you fight against Master Core, and the starting form is based on the difficulty. To get a Trophy for each of the Koopalings, you have to complete Classic or All-Star Mode as Bowser Jr., you don't have to play Classic Mode as any of the Koopalings.
As this is the only Super Smash Bros. game to have custom moves, I will go over what Bowser Jr.'s custom moves are, his neutral special is Clown Cannon, the first custom variant is Piercing Cannon, which has Bowser Jr. fire a smaller and less powerful cannonball that can go through multiple targets, and the other variant is Air Cannon, a cannonball is not fired, instead, the cannon shoots out air, which can push opponents away, and it does not have as much ranger as the cannonball. His side special is Clown Kart Dash, and the first custom variant is Koopa Drift, where the Junior Clown Car's spinout is a multi-hit move, and it travels slower, while the other variant, Grounding Dash, has the kart travel faster and it buries anyone that comes into contact on the ground, it does not deal damage while in the air, and the spinout has a push effect. The up special is Abandon Ship!, the first custom special is Meteor Ejection, which not only reduces Bowser Jr.'s vertical height, it is a Meteor Smash, and the other move is Koopa Meteor, where the Junior Clown Car flies up and explodes, while Bowser Jr. crashes downward, and it is not a Meteor Smash despite the name, it could be to do with Bowser Jr. crashing down like a meteor. Bowser Jr.'s down special is Mechakoopa, for each of his custom moves, the first one is Impatient Mechakoopa, which explodes much sooner after landing, and the second custom variant is Big Mechakoopa, where a larger Mechakoopa comes out, and you can pick it up and throw it at opponents, it walks a shorter distance.
If it wasn't for Masahiro Sakurai and how much work was put into the game, Bowser Jr. would not have made it as a playable character, he was this close to not being included into this game due to time restraints.
