Mario has finally arrived at Toad Town, this place is very large, and there are a bunch of areas to explore, like the Post Office, Merlon's House, and Shooting Star Summit, and we could also check on Luigi at the Mario Bros' House. The next place to go to is Shooting Star Summit, which is past where Princess Peach's Castle once used to be.

Toad Town has many different areas, the first area you enter has a Warp Pipe which leads to the Mario Bros. House, which is where Luigi is. The item shop, where you can buy items, you can only hold up to 10 items in your inventory, and you can store up to 32 items in every shop. There is Russ T.'s house, he is there to give Mario advice at any time, the Dojo, which you cannot visit until after the first Chapter. East of Toad Town is Merlon's House, which we cannot visit as Merlon is out, or so he says. The Post Office, which is where we can meet up with Parakarry, the Paratroopa Postman who delivered a letter to Mario's House in the opening scene at the start of the game, and you can view letters to your partners. We cannot exit Toad Town as there are suspicious looking Toads blocking the path, Rowf's Badge Shop, where you can buy badges, but we cannot until after Chapter 1.
North of Toad Town is where Princess Peach's Castle used to be, and past there is Shooting Star Summit, and there is a house there, Merluvlee is the fortune teller, and she tells you the locations of Star Pieces, Badges, and Super Blocks are, and Merlow trades you Badges in exchange for Star Pieces.
When you get to the top of Shooting Star Summit, the Star Spirits tell you a story of how Bowser took the Star Rod, and they request for Mario to rescue them and stop Bowser, and when you leave Shooting Star Summit, the scene changes to Peach's Castle, where Bowser enters Peach's room, and after a bit of dialogue, Peach then gets help from a Star Kid named Twink, and she requests for him to send the Lucky Star to Mario. Then back to Mario, and Twink comes and teaches him how to use Action Commands, if you accept the tutorial, you fight against Goombario, well it's a tutorial on how to use Action Commands, like defending to take less damage, and pressing A when you jump to get a second jump in. After that, a Magikoopa appears, and you fight against him, so it's best to put those Action Commands to use, the Magikoopa has 8 HP, and he will be on his broomstick, you can knock him off in order to fight him on the ground, and he attacks by shooting magic, you should be able to beat him without many problems.
The next thing to do is find Merlon, and after entering his house, you go through some dialogue, and you then have to follow him to the east exit, where the suspicious Toads are, and they will be revealed to be the Koopa Bros., who retreat, and Merlon then tells you to find a blue-shelled Koopa Troopa in order to enter the Koopa Bros. Fortress. You can talk to Merlon in his house to predict your next path, if ever you get stuck, you can talk to him, and he gives you hints on where you have to go.
