Next up is Mega Man, the representative for Capcom, but not the only Capcom representative in this game, as we also have Ryu from Street Fighter in this game, but he is a DLC character, and Mega Man is in the base game. Mega Man is mostly reliant on projectile moves for attacking, which is a downside against characters with reflectors or can absorb projectiles, like Fox, Ness, and many other characters.
Time to go over Classic Mode, in Rounds 1 to 3, you fight characters in their default costumes, in Rounds 4 and 5, you fight characters in their alternate costumes, in Round 6, you fight against the Fighting Mii Team, and in the final round, you fight Master Hand, and on Intensity 3.0 or higher, you fight Crazy Hand as well, and on an even higher Intensity, you fight Master Core.
Mega Man has some unique custom special moves, and about when I went over how Palutena's custom moves are not variants, but completely different moves, while Mega Man's custom special moves are different, they are variants, but the move used is different. Mega Man's neutral special is Metal Blade, which he received from Metal Man, and it goes through foes. The first custom move for Mega Man's neutral special is Hyper Bomb, which is Bomb Man's weapon, not to be confused with Bomberman, for that move, Mega Man throws a bomb which explodes on contact with an opponent, it deals more damage, but has less range, the other custom move is Shadow Blade, a spinning blade received from Shadow Man, and it acts like Metal Blade, but it can return back to Mega Man like a boomerang, and it can pull opponents towards Mega Man. Next is Crash Bomber, received from Crash Man, a bomb will be attached to an opponent and explode after a short time, the first variant is Ice Slasher, Ice Man's weapon, this does not cause explosions, instead, Mega Man shoots ice and can freeze opponents, it deals less damage than Crash Bomber, the other variant is Danger Warp, received from Burst Man, the bomb floats slowly in an upward curve, and the explosion deals multiple hits if it makes contact with an opponent, it has better knockback than the other two variants. Mega Man's up special is Rush Coil, Rush acts as a spring that propels Mega Man high into the air, the first variant of that move is Tornado Hold, which was received from Tengu Man, a fan is placed beneath Mega Man as it creates a tornado that pushes Mega Man upward, the tornado does damage to anyone caught in it, the other variant is Beat, the bird-robot that carries Mega Man back to the stage, and it is slower than Rush Coil. Mega Man's down special is Leaf Shield, in this game, you keep the Leaf Shield, you press B to fire the Leaf Shield, while in Ultimate, the Leaf Shield is fired right away, so you have to hold B to keep the Leaf Shield, this was received from Wood Man. The first custom variant for that move is Skull Barrier, which was received from Skull Man, a barrier of skulls protect Mega Man, and they reflect projectiles, but it travels less distance than Leaf Shield, the other variant is Plant Barrier, Plant Man's weapon, petals are used to surround Mega Man, and they have better protection than Leaf Shield, it does deal more damage when fired.
I remember before the release of Brawl, Mega Man was one of the most requested characters in the game, and his announcement was one of the best ways to announce Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U, as he was the second newcomer announced, so it is really good to have Mega Man be playable in a Smash Bros. game that is not a flash game or a fan-made game.
