Paper Mario Playthrough 20: Trials in the Toybox
It is time to enter Shy Guy's Toy Box, which is filled with Shy Guys of many variants, and see if we can find some of the stolen items they took from the inhabitants of Toad Town. Along the way, Mario finds a Black Shy Guy guarding a chest, and this one is way more powerful than any other Shy Guy in the Toy Box.
As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description
To access Shy Guy's Toy Box, there is an empty house in the southwestern part of Toad Town, turn invisible with Bow, a Shy Guy comes in, and reveals a secret wall, and we can enter the Toy Box. The most common enemies are Shy Guys, they come in different colours, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, and Pink, their regular attack deals 2 damage, they have an acrobat attack that deals 3 damage, and they have 7 HP.
There is a black Shy Guy, he is known as Anti Guy, and he is guarding a chest, he is an optional boss, and he is a very difficult one, he has 50 HP, his regular attack deals 10 damage, and his acrobatic move deals 12 damage, his other name is Deadly Guy, you will need some good luck with Power Bounce, or you can use a Stone Cap while having a partner like Bow or Parakarry do the damage dealing.
Defeating Anti Guy gives you the Power Plus Badge, this boosts the power of Mario's Jump and Hammer by 1, so if you are able to defeat the Anti Guy, this is a great reward, but you can buy one from Merlow for 25 Star Pieces, it does require 6 BP to equip.
Along the way, we can find Groove Guys, they have an attack that can make Mario dizzy, if you have Feeling Fine equipped, it will not work, they can call in other Groove Guys, or they can call in Shy Guys or Medi Guys. In the leftmost part of Blue Station, this is where you can get Cake Mix, this item only heals 1 FP, but its main use is to give it to Tayce T. to make a Cake, which heals 15 FP, but we can't do it yet as Tayce T.'s frying pan is not there, but what we do find is Rowf's calculator, so we can return that to Rowf, and the Badge Shop will be open again. After Chapter 3, you can buy Jump Charge, which powers up Mario's Jump by 2, Spin Smash, when sends the targeted enemy into others behind it, and it has special effects, like knocking off the segments of a Pokey, and Group Focus, which allows Mario's partners to use Focus. For returning Rowf's calculator, you will receive I Spy, this badge alerts you of any Star Pieces in the room if they are under a hidden panel.
When you take the east part of Blue Station, Kammy Koopa will place either a Mushroom, Goomba, or Clubba depending on your answer. There are a bunch of boxes which you can use the Spin Jump on to access new areas, and we encounter Sky Guys, they are Shy Guys that float in the air with balloons, and they attack with a slingshot, you can pop the balloons to make them become regular Shy Guys. You can get a Star Piece and a Thunder Bolt in that room, and at the end is whichever Kammy Koopa put there, open the chest, and it contains a Storeroom Key, which you can give to Harry in Toad Town to access the storeroom. In the storeroom is a Dizzy Dial, Volt Shroom, Snowman Doll, and the Toy Train, Volt Shroom isn't necessary as we already have Zap Tap, Snowman Doll can come in useful as we will be coming across enemies weak to ice very soon, I don't tend to use Dizzy Dial that much, and the Toy Train is required to progress, you have to drop it into the box from outside, as the Toy Train can be used to access parts of Shy Guy's Toy Box.
