This is the first DLC character in Super Smash Bros. 4, first up is Mewtwo. It was available for free if you registered both Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U on Club Nintendo before March 31st 2015, but it wasn't the only DLC character to be free at one point, because in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Piranha Plant was available for free if you registered the game to My Nintendo before the release date for Piranha Plant.
Mewtwo was greatly buffed in this game, because in Melee, I found Mewtwo to be really weak, which kind of goes against what Mewtwo is really meant to be, in the main series Pokémon games, Mewtwo was the most powerful Pokémon out of all of them, to the point it was overpowered. Mewtwo does have good throws, having the best back throw in the game, at least it did get some improvements. Another thing is that in 2023, the Wii U eShop will shut down, meaning that you will no longer be able to download DLC for Super Smash Bros. 4 if you have not done so, but at least we have Super Smash Bros. Ultimate if you really want to play as any of the DLC characters that were in this game.
Time to go over Classic Mode, in Rounds 1 to 3, you fight characters in their default costumes, in Rounds 4 and 5, you fight characters in their alternate costumes, in Round 6, you fight against the Fighting Mii Team, and in the final round, you fight Master Hand, and on Intensity 3.0 or higher, you fight Crazy Hand as well, and on an even higher Intensity, you fight Master Core.
If you are wondering about custom moves, none of the DLC characters have them, I did read somewhere that Mewtwo was planned to have custom moves. Mewtwo's special moves aren't anything new, it did have those moves in Melee, but I might as well explain in case anyone watching this video is not familiar with the Smash Bros. series, despite Ultimate being one of the best selling Switch games, and I do a bunch of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate videos, I have over 1400 online matches uploaded currently, which is a lot of videos. Mewtwo has Shadow Ball for its neutral special, in Melee, while charging, Shadow Ball would deal damage, but in this game, Shadow Ball does not damage the opponent while Mewtwo is charging it, however, Lucario's Aura Sphere does deal damage while charging, and if you are wondering, Mewtwo and Lucario are not clones of each other, they have completely different moves, that was what most people thought about when Lucario was revealed in Brawl, and Mewtwo had been cut from that game. Mewtwo's side special Confusion can spin opponents around, and it can reflect projectiles, Teleport can be used as a recovery move, and Disable, Mewtwo's down special, can be used to stun opponents, and if used on an opponent that is already stunned, it will knock them away and deal 1% damage.
Mewtwo can Mega Evolve when using its Final Smash, it becomes Mega Mewtwo Y and uses Psystrike, and it fires a projectiles that freezes opponents in place, and then a psychic blast follows up which deals great knockback. Mewtwo is one of two playable characters to have a Non-Fighter Trophy before they were added as a playable character, the other being Lucas, and after being downloaded, you would get Mewtwo's Alt. Trophy, normally you would get the Alt. Trophy for the character through the Trophy Shop after beating Classic or All-Star Mode with that character.
