I play as Wolf in this Classic Mode route, and while he is the last Brawl character in roster order, I will be making a list that I randomize every time, and the playlist will display the fighters in order of how they are displayed on the roster, so at the time, I have 20 characters left to go. Wolf's Classic Mode route is Reunited Roster, and his opponents are characters that were playable characters that were not in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U, and were in previous Smash Bros. games, much like Wolf himself where he was a playable character in Brawl, he was cut from Smash 4, and is now back in this game.
To unlock Wolf, there are many different ways, and one of them is through Vs. Matches, where Wolf is the 51st character to be unlocked, and he is the 7th character unlocked by completing Classic Mode with Fox or anyone in his unlock tree after Bowser Jr.
In Round 1, you fight against Ice Climbers on Summit, and while you fight characters that were not in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U and were playable in past Smash Bros. games, the Ice Climbers were in both Melee and Brawl, but were cut from Smash 4. In Round 2, you fight Young Link on Great Bay, and in Round 3, your opponent is Pichu, and the stage is Pokémon Stadium, both Young Link and Pichu were playable in Melee and were not playable in Brawl or Smash 4. In Round 4, you fight against Squirtle on Pokémon Stadium 2, and in Round 5, your opponent is Ivysaur, and the stage is Spear Pillar, Pokémon Trainer is not present in either matches, both Squirtle and Ivysaur were playable in Brawl as part of Pokémon Trainer, and they were cut from Smash 4, and Charizard was a standalone character. In Round 6, your opponent is Snake, and you fight him on Shadow Moses Island, and much like Wolf, Snake was playable in Brawl and was cut from Smash 4.
Next is the Bonus Stage, and after that, you fight Galleom at the end of the route, he was a boss in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and was not in Super Smash Bros. 4, so I can see why he would be the boss on Wolf's Classic Mode route.
After beating Galleom, the Classic Mode route is done, and the credits song for Wolf is Star Wolf's theme from Star Fox Assault, and you unlock the Fighter Spirit for Wolf if you completed Classic Mode with him for the first time.
