I enter Route 228, the desert route of this game, and there is an endless sandstorm there, but the nice thing about this route is there is an Ace Trainer you can battle against who gives a lot of experience because of a certain Pokémon on that Ace Trainer's team, so worth fighting against with the Vs. Seeker.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

Route 228 is the desert route of this game, there is an endless sandstorm there, which is not good for any non-Rock, Ground, or Steel-type Pokémon you use, and there are a lot of sand roads which require the bike. There are some interesting things I want to go over, there is the Ace Trainer you can encounter at the start of the Route, she uses a Chansey, and she is worth battling against with the Vs. Seeker, because Chansey gives a ton of experience when defeated, and speaking of the Vs. Seeker, the Psychic near the end of the route has a Banette with Shadow Force when you rematch him, and Banette can't even learn Shadow Force, it can learn Phantom Force which is similar, and the Ace Trainer's Delcatty had Feint Attack, a move that was removed from the data in this game, and it was changed in an update.
There is a house on Route 228 where you can learn the ultimate moves, that is Frenzy Plant for the fully evolved Grass-type starters, Blast Burn for the fully evolved Fire-type starters, and Hydro Cannon for the fully evolved Water-type starters. While they are powerful, they are Hyper Beam clones where the user has to recharge after using them. In another house is a man who talks about his son being an avid reader, and I've seen rumours that his son is Lucian of the Elite Four.
I will go over the encounters, and you can find Hippowdon and Rhydon on this route, for new encounters, you can find Cacturne, which is more common at night, and there is a rare chance you can find its pre-evolved form Cacnea, and you can find both in the Grand Underground. While Cacturne has good attacking stats, its low Speed is a drawback, its main use is Sucker Punch, and it does get some nice moves like Energy Ball and Poison Jab, and it can learn Seed Bomb, Low Kick, Power-Up Punch, Fell Stinger, and Switcheroo for possible Egg Moves, it's a decent Pokémon, but it can be really tricky to use as it does have a lot of weaknesses.
Then we have Dugtrio, it is a fast Ground-type Pokémon that can get Arena Trap for its Ability, the downside is Dugtrio has very low HP and cannot take hits well, it's best use is for trapping its foes, like an Electric-type Pokémon, and using Earthquake to take them out, and it can learn Sucker Punch, Rock Slide, and many other moves, its pre-evolved for Diglett can be found as a rare encounter.
The swarm encounter for Route 228 is Beldum, and I will go over the good, it no longer has Take Down, it has Tackle, meaning you don't have to deal with Beldum knocking itself out, the downside, Beldum has a ridiculous catch rate of 3, it has the same catch rate as a Legendary Pokémon, don't know why they gave Beldum that low of a catch rate in the first place. If you can catch a Beldum, it can make a good team member, because you can evolve it into Metang in one level, and it can relearn moves like Meteor Mash, Zen Headbutt, and Bullet Punch, and you can level it up again to evolve it into Metagross, a very powerful Steel/Psychic-type Pokémon with great stats, Metagross can learn some good moves like Brick Break, Earthquake, and Rock Slide, it can't learn Ice Punch or Thunder Punch in this game, but its stat do make it a good Pokémon to add to your team.
The Poké Radar encounter is Trapinch and Vibrava, both can be found in the Grand Underground, you can level up Vibrava once to get Flygon, and it does get some nice moves like Dragon Dance, Dragon Claw, and Earthquake, as well as some coverage options like Superpower, Crunch, and Rock Slide, so this does make Flygon a solid choice to use.
As with items, you can get a Protector, which you can give to Rhydon to evolve it into Rhyperior when traded, you can get a Shed Shell, which allows the Pokémon holding the item to switch out even when affected by Abilities like Arena Trap or Magnet Pull, or moves like Mean Look, the TM for Sandstorm, and a Shiny Stone.
