Next is Route 227, and this is the path to Stark Mountain, and this area does remind me of Route 113 from Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire, where you have volcanic ash falling down, and there are a bunch of ramps that you have to use your bike to cross, and good thing you can jump over them, because in the original games, you had to pick up enough speed to jump over them.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

Route 227 reminds me of Route 113 from Hoenn, as that was a route that had volcanic ash falling down, and you can also find Spinda on that route as well, and Spinda is the swarm encounter for Route 227, and it's not that good, and it is exclusive to swarms, you cannot encounter it in the Grand Underground, and it's just Pokédex filler, Spinda has base 60 in all of its stats, it is one of the worse Pokémon in the game.
Route 227 has bike ramps, some Trainers to fight, and when you encounter Barry and Crasher Wake, who tell you that Buck is at Stark Mountain and is after the treasure, so Barry goes on ahead. The house there is where you can heal your Pokémon, and the old lady will ask to heal your Pokémon again, this does remind me of Route 111 in Hoenn which had a rest house as well.
I will go over the other encounters on that route, there is Camerupt, a Fire/Ground-type with a low Speed stat and solid attacking stats, but its 4x weakness to Water does hold it back a bit, because the problem with Fire-type is that they are difficult to use defensively when they are weak to the most common types. Camerupt does come with Earthquake when caught, and you can give it Flamethrower and Earth Power to make it work, and it is one of few Pokémon to learn Eruption, and there is a rare chance you can encounter Numel in the wild, and both can be found in the Grand Underground where it can know moves like Ancient Power, Heat Wave, Iron Head, Growth, and many other moves.
The next one is Weezing, and it can have Neutralizing Gas, which prevents Abilities from working when Weezing is on the field, and it is a defensive Poison-type Pokémon that can learn moves like Clear Smog and Toxic, and it can relearn Heat Wave. Weezing does have Explosion, so test your luck when catching it, and its pre-evolved form Koffing can only be obtained by breeding. Weezing is in the Grand Underground where it can know Stockpile, Toxic Spikes, Curse, Pain Split, and many other moves.
While you can find Rhydon in the wild, you were able to get Rhyhorn in the Grand Underground before the after-game, but there is one new encounter that cannot be found in the Grand Underground, and it is a 5% encounter, that Pokémon is the Steel/Flying-type Skarmory, it has high Defense, and it has a good Attack stat to make use of moves like Steel Wing and Brave Bird, and it can learn Roost and Swords Dance through TM, Skarmory can even work in setting up entry hazards like Spikes and Stealth Rock, the downside is it cannot like Toxic like it used to. If you are lucky enough to find one, unless you have a Pokémon like Magnet Pull to increase the odds of finding one, Skarmory can be a good Pokémon to use, and it's even good in competitive battling with access to moves like Stealth Rock, Roost, and Roar.
The Poké Radar encounter for Route 227 and Stark Mountain is Torkoal, while it is a slow and defensive Fire-type, which as I have said tend to have a hard time defensively, Torkoal can get Drought for its Ability, which is the main reason to use one, and it does have Flamethrower when caught and can learn Eruption through level up, Torkoal can even use Solar Beam to take advantage of Drought and have a way to deal with the types it is weak to. Torkoal is also in the Grand Underground where it can have moves like Fissure, Yawn, and Superpower.
There are some good items you can pick up, there is a Charcoal on Route 227, which requires Rock Climb, and when you arrive at Stark Mountain, there are a bunch of Rock Climb paths, and there is a Dragon Tamer with a Gyarados, I remember this guy had a Dragonite in Platinum, and that Gyarados does have some powerful moves on it, but after battling him, you can get a Life Orb, this is a great item, it boosts the power of moves by 30% when held, but the Pokémon holding the item will take recoil damage, it is a great item on Pokémon with Magic Guard, like Alakazam, or Pokémon with Sheer Force like Nidoking, Feraligatr, Steelix, and many others.
