Welcome to the Retro Gamer 365 where we are gaming every day! Today we have scene 5 of Turtles In Time for the SNES and it is 2,500,000,000 BC, Prehistoric Turtlesaurus (give or take a few zeroes). As with the last couple of videos we have Professor Stu and Hall Monitor Rika playing as Donatello and Michaelangelo and did we mention that this is Rika's first time playing the game? Comment below if you know who was playing which turtle!

Fresh from the present, the turtles land in the ancient past. Once there they are assaulted by a plethora of Foot in various colors as well as pterodactyls which drop boulders on the unsuspecting reptiles as well as Rock Soldiers from Dimension X and a pack of velociraptors that runs through and flattens any hapless turtles in their way.

Unlike in previous levels, the blue Foot here have giant double-bladed axes and the yellow throw bombs. The purple are normal Foot, the pink have tonfa, and the Rock Soldiers are unarmed.

At the end of the level is the second new boss exclusive to this game. In the Arcade version at this point the turtles would fight Clayface who makes little sense to be in this time. Of course, the Foot make little sense as well. Anyways, the new boss is Slash, a dark green mutant turtle with a nasty sword. This sword gives Slash a longer reach than any of the four turtles, including Donatello and should be avoided at all costs. Additionally, Slash can block any and all attacks launched on him while he is standing in place. With that being said, the best (and probably only) time to actually hurt him is after he jumps from one side of the screen to the other as he is vulnerable when he lands. Watch out for his spin jump though as it can put a turtle in a world of hurt.

Put Slash into his prehistoric grave and watch him explode(?) before the turtles are sucked forward in time to the 1500's with Skull and Crossbones. Next time we will cover this swashbuckling adventure as the turtles wreak havoc on a disturbingly large pirate ship!
