Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time for the SNES Starbase Playthrough
Welcome to the Retro Gamer 365 where are gaming every day! Today we have the second to last scene in Turtles In Time and it takes place in the bona fide future: A.D. 2100. Today we have Professor Stu and Hall Monitor Rika playing as Donatello and Michaelangelo. Leave a comment below guessing which one is playing whom!
So not only are we where no turtle has gone before with Starbase, but we are really where no logic has gone before. But really, this is a fun level, even with the lack of logical thought that is applied to it. The reason this scene is lacking is that if the turtles couldn't be defeated in the past then how are they going to be defeated in the future by someone who they literally beat down in the last level?
Anywho, the turtles are here, in the future, and they have a massive entourage of Foot and Rock Soldiers as well as a small army of robots to defeat. That, coupled with the fire traps, laser traps, and the massive steel balls which bounce down the hallways a few times, spells trouble for our shelled heroes.
The Foot in this level run the gamut from unarmed purple to overarmed blues with everything in between! There are also Orange, Yellow, and white armed with bombs, tonfa, collapsible staves, bombs, boomerang frisbees, axes, kitana, and sai! Added to that are Rock Soldiers from Dimension X that are unarmed as well as some armed with rocket launchers that shoot fire-wave bombs and some armed with laser rifles! To top it off there are robots that I don't know the name of that stand in place and try and freeze the turtles as well as a large selection of Annihilators which appear before and are dropped by Krang.
Once the turtles have vanquished the regular enemies then it is time for a rematch with Krang. This time Krang has only four life bars instead of the six he had as Super Krang but this time he brough reinforcements. Krang can drop Annihilators in groups around the screen, four at a time. They die fast but distract from the true target: Krang. Krang is flying in a small UFO that shoots bubble blobs from the side in groups which can encase the turtles in a bubble, rendering them helpless for a few seconds while causing damage. As a last-ditch effort, Krang can also attempt to crush the turtles using his saucer. He is not so much a threat as a nuisance which can be hard to catch.
Once Krang is defeated once and for all (maybe) the turtles are sucked through their final time portal back to present day 1992 in order to fight Shredder in the Technodrome! Next time we will cover this final scene in Turtles In Time and we will see if the turtles win for all time or not! As always, smash those like and subscribe buttons and keep on gaming every day!
