Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time for the SNES Neon Night Riders Walkthrough!
Welcome to the Retro Gamer 365 where we are gaming every day! This is Professor Stu with Hall Monitor Rika and we are picking up where we left off on Monday. Today we are on the stage: A.D. 2020 Neon Night Riders! As before we have the two of us playing as Donatello and Michaelangelo, comment below to guess which one is which!
This stage is a nice break from the previous stages if your thumbs are getting tired as the number of enemies is extremely low compared to previous levels and the fact that the turtles are automatically moved through the level in a stage progression system that is similar to Space Harrier for the Sega Master System. This is unique from the Arcade version where the entire level is sidescrolling to the right the entire time. The Console version does switch to that but only for the fight against Super Krang after progressing through the bonus stage.
So the bonus stage; it has the added bonus to it not only of getting extra points but the fact that every enemy dies in one hit! That is amazing after fighting some of the recent guys in mass quantities. Super Krang makes up for that with having to take a large amount of damage. In fact, almost half of the video is fighting him.
The enemies in this stage all fly on hover disks with the exception of a small collection of purple Foot in single-man helicopters with mounted vulcan cannons which appear later in the bonus section. There are purple and pink unarmed Foot Soldiers and then a number of yellow Foot armed with bombs. That is it. Very nice to have a respite from hordes of enemies from earlier. There is also a section with weird bombs on the roadway where there are orbs with question marks in them that represent pizzas. Grab the orbs, miss the bombs.
When the viewpoint rotates around to the side Super Krang becomes visible flying in the distance of the background. He quickly closes in on the turtles and starts his barrage of deadly attacks. You would think that a giant robot body that can change size would be deadlier than it is however. Super Krang primarily relies on a flying kick for damage in this version and he can fly off of either side of the screen while doing such. He also can launch missiles out of his chest as he normally does and then for some strange reason shoots bombs out of his mouth in small groups which land randomly around the roadway. Avoid these if at all possible as it knocks the turtles down when they hit.
Once Super Krang explodes Krang flies off in his little spaceship while taunting the turtles and threatening their lives; nothing new here. The turtles then get sucked into the even-more-future future as they go to the Starbase! That is all for this video and the stage, smash those like and subscribe buttons and keep on gaming every day!
