In this chapter, after a brief rest Elen sets out for Zainab Camp, the third settlement of the Ashlanders in which she has to convince the tribe elders to name her Nerevarine. Unfortunately, the local Ashkhan takes quite a bit of convincing, as he first demands Elen to neutralize a dangerous vampire in his neighborhood, then agrres to her demands only under the condition of Elen finding him a presentable bride from House Telvanni. All of this takes quite a bit of tracking back and forth around the East Coast, but in the end our protagonist comes up with a tricky scheme and achieves her goal with cunning rather than brute force. Three Ashlander Camps convinced, only one more to go!
