In this chapter, Elen prudently decides to put her final march against the Sixth House off for a while, until her (already impressive) powers have grown to the point of guaranteeing success. This is as good a time as any to resume working on her multiple side quests, as she completes assignments for the Imperial Cult (to the point of getting hired by The Oracle Lalatia Varian, highest member of the organization), the Mages' Guild (including reporting back to Trebonius on the solved Mystery of the Dwarves), the Fighters' Guild, the Thieves' Guild, and the Imperial Legion. To be able to do all of that reasonably quickly, Elen finds a neat way to equip her Boots Of Blinding Speed without actually succumbing to the "blinding" effect - but even with this accessory, completing all those quests still takes a long, long time...
