The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening Playthrough Part 13
In the last part, I did a bit of item collecting after beating Eagle's Tower and collected a few things like more heart pieces and secret seashells. In this part I just get straight into the matter by starting up Tal Tal Mountain again but heading to the West side of the mountain this time.
On our way there, we come across Marin who seems to have been placed in a pretty precarious spot on the bridge leading to where we need to go, though she could clearly jump to the left to get out of her situation but seems she's afraid of heights so we get to save her, by just using the hookshot to get across the gap and catching her as we zip across the gap in the bridge. After getting Marin to safety, Tarin shows up and she follows him.
Most of what we Traversed to get to the West Side of Tal Tal Mountain was already covered when I went there in part 11 with the rooster. This time however, since we need to go this way, I actually push forward and get the piece of heart. Entering a cave that is blocked by a bombable wall, we come across a flame trap that is constantly spraying fire, which makes me wonder if I could've gotten any further if I tried to block the flames with the normal shield.
Either way, we make it to the entrance of the dungeon holding the final instrument but it seems to be blocked by a head. The hint we got from clearing Eagle's Tower says that we need to use the Ocarina to get into the dungeon, and the old man had mentioned how we have to put life into the head to get it to move, of course this means using the Frog's song of soul to get the head moving but it becomes hostile and we fight it.
Defeating the head, we enter the penultimate dungeon, Turtle Rock, and boy it is quite a dungeon, the first enemy we encounter in the dungeon shows that it is a really smart opponent, as it will dive at you but not even get close if you have a spin attack ready, it will even stop diving and dodge any projectile attacks. Getting further into the dungeon, the place literally is throwing everything it has to prevent Link from waking the Wind Fish as the dungeon is just filled with mid bosses from previous dungeons.
Ending off this part, we come across the actual mid-boss of Turtle Rock, who is someone that is fought in Oracle of Seasons,. though this one we at least get to use our sword on, rather than having to resort to fisticuffs.
