Exploring Cataris further in this part, it's not long before we come across the next E.M.M.I zone, the cutscene that reveals the E.M.M.I shows that the Phantom Cloak we got from Corpius can help in evading it, but the cutscene also shows it able to enter small passages meaning that sliding through those passages is no longer a way to put a lot of distance between it and us.

Going further into Cataris, dodging the E.M.M.I as I keep going, we keep interacting with a lot of the devices that change the flow of thermal energy which opens up some doors while closing others. Eventually I make it to a shuttle that takes us to the third area of the game, Dairon.

Going through Dairon, the enemies are proving to become a lot more dangerous as some of them start taking nearly half an energy tank if their attacks hit. We eventually come across parts of the area where there seems to be no power going through it, but we also come across the device that brings the power back, allowing the doors to open again though it also reactivates the hostile machinery we've seen throughout the places that had power. Going through the now powered doors we come across the next beam upgrade Wide Beam (or Spazer for the long time fans of Metroid).

Using our newfound upgrade, we explore a bit more of Dairon since going back the way we came from is impossible, only to come up to the fourth E.M.M.I zone, and this one is fast, trying to run from it is not going to be very helpful. Evading the E.M.M.I and finding another exit to the area it patrols, we head back to Cataris to try and make more progress there using Wide Beam. As it turns out, the Central Unit that the green E.M.M.I is guarding is behind a Wide Beam Cover.

Taking out the Central Unit and the E.M.M.I grants us the Morph Ball upgrade which allow us to finally enter one block sized gaps that are not at ground level. We will be using this new upgrade to further explore ZDR and make our way back to the surface.
