The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening Playthrough Part 15 - Finale
This is it, the last part of our adventure through Koholint Island, we head straight for the egg on Mt. Tamaranch to finally wake the Wind Fish. Using the instruments obtained, we play the Ballad of the Wind Fish and crack open a path into the egg.
Inside the egg, we find what seems to be a maze puzzle that we have to go through to get to the Wind Fish, thankfully with the Magnifying Lens and visiting the Library in Mabe a while back, the solution to the maze is in the book that's in the bottom right. Using the hint given in the book we get through the puzzle and go deeper to find the final boss of Link's Awakening.
For the first phase, it seems the boss is only susceptible to a particular item, just like Hot Head in Turtle Rock, the item in question for this fight is the magic powder. Three dustings of magic power and we move on to the next phase.
The magician phase, where we attempt a Zelda tradition, Dead Man's Volley, the act of sending a shot fired at you right back at the boss. Thankfully this boss is incapable of returning your reflects but only one of the boss's projectiles can be reflected, there's not much to really say about fighting a Dead Man's Volley boss, just keep sending shots back until the boss's health expires.
The third phase, this guy looks familiar doesn't he, we've fought him before and it's not like anything has changed in regards to tactics, he's just able to withstand more hits so we just have to damage him more before he goes down, though he does go way faster.
In phase four, this guy transforms into a shadow version of Ganon, and what seems to work on him is spin attacks. Dodging his attacks are a bit of a mixed bag for me here, the fire bats are simple enough to dodge but the spinning spear that he throws after is a bit harder to dodge especially if you have to charge a spin attack and try to hit the boss with it.
The fifth phase has the boss charge at you. Like in the fourth phase, this guy is susceptible to spin attacks but not normal attacks, but he's a lot easier to handle than the last phase since all he seems to do is ram you. So just charge up a spin attack and counter him while he charges at you.
The final phase involves an eye, and when Zelda games have eyes stare at you, you poke them with a nice pointy arrow. Dodging this boss is simple at the start but as the boss keeps taking damage the movement of the arms will change making the timing and positioning of your dodges to change. Though as the fight went on, I got a bit nervous as to whether I had enough arrows to take the boss out, so I had to check if there was another item that could damage the boss, thankfully there was, the Magic Rod also hurts him. Amazingly enough, with the magic rod damage on top of all the damage I've already done, the last two arrows I had was enough to finish the boss.
After beating the boss, we finally wake the Wind Fish, but as the relief has mentioned in the ruins, once the Wind Fish has awoken, Koholint Island starts to vanish and with the island gone Link awakens as well.
After the credits, I dive back into the game for a bit to do a few more of those Chamber Dungeons at Dampé's shack, and wouldn't you know it, it seems that some of the secret seashells and pieces of heart are only obtained by clearing those dungeons.
Other than that, that's pretty much it for my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening. If i'm going to come back to this game, it's going to be bonus videos that mostly cover the Chamber Dungeons and me looking around the Island for the remaining secret seashells and pieces of heart.
Thank you guys for watching this playthrough all the way to the end, and i'll see you guys next time for my next playthrough.
