A follow-up to Stronghold of Darkness and retaining its brand of flip-screen streamlined dungeon design, now with a much more extensive quest, more complex puzzles and tool usage, and even the ability to save your progress! All that and a 16-bit art style that mixes elements from A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, and even the NES remake on Satellaview.
Unfortunately, I'm not as enamoured with this one as I was the first. The scope and complexity is impressive, but it also makes it that more frustrating to navigate, and the deluge of respawning enemies just becomes a bit tiresome. It's easy to lose your progress or get softlocked by any number of factors -- iffy collision detection (it's so easy to fall off bridges!), running out of bombs or magic, or even just getting stuck inside walls or blocks by unfortunate happenstance. Definitely among the better Zelda fangames out there from what I've seen, I just wish there were a better save system to offset these quibbles...!
