I used to really not like this one. I think I didn't like it because I was playing it completely wrong though. I used to play with jump enabled, and I would just break the map every time I got confused where to go. I also remember spending too much time wading around in the blood, frustrated that I couldn't jump back up anywhere and not knowing about the platform that lowers. Now that I am no longer an idiot, I can appreciate this map as a more eerie and hectic take on the Innermost Dens. This map would be really hard if it weren't for the megasphere/BFG secret. You get more than enough cells to eradicate every potentially difficult encounter, and you're basically invincible while doing it. I think if there was a rocket launcher instead of that BFG it would be much more balanced, especially since you still also get a plasma rifle and several boxes of rockets. The final big encounter with the window full of enemies is flawed either way though, they can't really escape that room and the archvile rarely targets you due to infighting. Oh, and I also like the option to assassinate the pain elemental early, but it is probably also unnecessary.
