[TRIP REPORT] Limited Express Azusa From Matsumoto To Tokyo In Green Car By JR East
The Azusa Limited Express train operated by JR East runs between Matsumoto and Shinjuku. Some trains will continue to Tokyo, but most will terminate at Shinjuku. Together with the Limited Express Kaiji and Hachioji, the Chuo Main Line sees one of the most frequent Limited Express services in the whole of Japan.
The E353 Series operates on the Chuo Main Line. It gives many passengers acces to the Japanese Alps in the Nagano Prefecture as well as a link to the Fuji Five Lakes at Kawaguchiko. The trains comes in a set of 12 cars or 3 cars, with the 12 car version having a Green Car as well. You may also find this train on the Limited Express Ōme, Shinshu and Fuji Excursion.
In the video I mentioned that the E353 Series has 9 cars. This is incorrect as it should be a 12 car train. During the voice over recording I assumed the train consisted of 9 cars, because I was looking at my seat reservation mentioning that I had booked a seat in car 9. This mix up in numbers caused me to make the mistake in the voice over.
