9:24 Wyvern is actually a major hurdle in most of these challenge runs, as his defenses are nearly impenetrable. Fortunately, like all dragons, he has terrible offensive capabilities.

The method I use here actually winds up being one of the most effective I've ever developed. A Fire+Edged weapon will hit his tail harder than anything else, and because of the Glaive's long reach, the normal game of "chase the tail" is much easier. You can sometimes even reach it by poking straight through Wyvern's stomach (although I don't pull that off here). Still, getting to his tail with the Glaive is as easy as it is ever going to be, and it hits him about as hard as any setup I've ever seen. Basically, Wyvern just isn't the problem in this run that he is in others.

You might notice a lot of weapon switching going on here. I have two main concerns. On the one hand, I want to stack as much Air on the Stormy Nail as possible. This is one of the best stretches in the game for accumulating Air affinity, and I'm still working toward my ultimate goal of a good Guildenstern 2 weapon. Secondarily, I don't want to wear the Stormy Nail's DP out completely, because it's the weapon I need to use on the final boss of this area, before I get another chance to Repair.

Because of that, I try to kill everything that won't give me Air affinity with something other than the Stormy Nail. I make an exception for the Mimics, because killing them with any other weapon is dramatically harder. But I do make sure to Degenerate each one, to keep my DP losses minimal.

The Goblin Leaders here are a real nuisance in this run. They can cast Stun Cloud, which I have no way to counter or cure yet. To try to offset this, I cast Degenerate on each one at every opportunity. This typically lures them into casting Dispel, giving me enough time to burn them down. It's not 100% reliable, but I managed to pull it off my first try for this stretch, at least.

15:35 This chest contains an Undine Jasper, for a slight Water affinity boost.

20:48 This chest is the biggest prize here. Not only does it contain Frost Fusion (I'll be relying heavily on the Fusion spells throughout this run for maximum flexibility with few weapons), but also a Salamander Ring. With +3 Strength and +10 Blunt, this will be one of my best offensive accessories for Blunt weapons until I can get the Pushpaka using the Stock Sigil after Nightstalker.
