Kind of a long, uninteresting segment here, but there is some important affinity work to note.

I take off my chest piece early in the video to increase the effectiveness of my Heal spell. Except for a few special circumstances, I will not be wearing a chestpiece at all throughout the rest of the run.

You may also note that I never upgrade from Leather armor. This is because Leather has 0 weight, which keeps Ashley's accuracy as high as possible. Since I'm never raising my agility, this will increasingly important as the run progresses.

I pick up two additional spears here, an Iron Spear and a Bronze Glaive. Because my original Rusty Nail has been racking so much Light affinity already, I convert it to my "Shiny Nail", which will be serving the role normally served by Soul Kiss throughout this run, i.e. Undead/Evil killer. Since I'll be using it to kill Undead the entire game, with luck it will rack enough Light affinity to stay relevant throughout.

That means I'll have to convert my Iron Spear to my "Air/Piercing" weapon, which is another key weapon to have through the early parts of the game. This isn't ideal because the B Glaive starts with a gap of 3 between Phys and Air (8-5) while the I Spear has a gap of 10 (10-0). However, the Iron Spear is also +2 Str, and the Stormy Nail is the more important weapon long term. Without farming another B Spear to make a H Air Spear, I don't really have an option here.

I swap hilts with the Rusty Nail and the Glaive, which I rename to my Slashy Nail. It'll be my Edged weapon for most of the game, so I need the gem slot on it for added flexibility. It'd be nice to stack the Iocus on the Shiny Nail, but undead are among the weakest enemies in the game anyway, so the Slashy Nail becomes the priority. Besides that, the 12 Edged on the Spiculum Pole is too good to waste at this stage of the game.
