Until the outbreak if the Korean War in 1950 the country had existed as one nation for 1,300 years.

The three-year war has come to be known as the forgotten war as it fell between World War Two and Vietnam.

What started as a UN policing mission it involved troops from 16 countries and cost a total of two million military and civilian lives.

Last week 200 veterans of that war revisited the battlefields, where they had faced freezing weather conditions and a relentless Chinese enemy, to remember the fallen.

Forces News cameras were in South Korea for the visit.
