Persona 5 is a very Japanese game, with a very Japanese setting, but it almost didn't turn out this way. Early in development, Persona 5 was going to be a game about backpacking around the world, exploring foreign countries.

Then, the team at Atlus decided to refocus on Japan, and in particular on Tokyo, following a serious natural disaster. It's interesting to see game development as a method of working through collective trauma.

We'll get it out of the way for you so you don't have to say it in the comments. A video about Persona 5? YOU NEVER SAW IT COMIIIIIING.

Anyway, hope you're enjoying your December. We're enjoying this Advent Calendar nonsense thus far, although this one is pushing the upper limits of what we can achieve on a daily basis. We probably won't push past the two minute mark on any of these - unless the extra runtime on this video proved favourable to the Almighty YouTuber Algorithm.

Lots of love and Merry Holidays
