Persona 5 Strikers, called Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers in Japan, has a fairly solid release date for its Western release. It turns out that the Phantom Thieves must have broken into Atlus, because the official Atlus YouTuber channel managed to leak the game's English language trailer, before it was deleted ten minutes later.

The most interesting thing about the trailer, apart from the fact that the game is coming out in English at all, is that Persona 5 Strikers is apparently also coming to Steam.

Atlus has been experimenting with Steam a little over the past couple of years, with publisher Sega actively encouraging more releases on the PC platform. First there was Catherine last year, and then, earlier this year, Persona 4 released on Steam, and immediately became a massive hit.

Seriously. From the sounds of it, not only did Sega and Atlus dramatically underestimate how much PC players wanted to play Persona 4 Golden, they also might feel a slight pang of regret at not setting the game's price a little higher. It's worth assuming they won't make that mistake again.

It's funny to think that Atlus genuinely didn't think people would be this interested in playing Persona 4 on a platform that isn't the PlayStation Vita, but now that they have definitive proof that, surprise surprise, people like to play Persona games, it seems we'll be getting more of these Steam ports in future, and perhaps even some remasters of otherwise neglected games.

This is good news for everyone going into 2021, the twenty fifth anniversary of the Persona series. Producers at Atlus are teasing that we might see more games on the way next year, although how many of them will arrive in English remains to be seen. Don't get your hopes up for a Western release of Persona 6 any time soon.

But hey, who knows? Maybe Persona 5 could come to PC or Switch? That'd be a nice little reward for fan loyalty! It's what we've all been waiting for, after all!

Anyway, have a great day, we love you, we'll see you tomorrow.

Lots of love,
