XCOM Chimerian Squadron - Episode 26

Hello again.
This episode is rather short (approx. five minutes of runtime), but it is revolving around a type of mission which inspired fear and disaster in Enemy Unknown if it was RNG-rolled too early.
Also, a continuation of me dissing "the renovators of Renova Heights".

Today I've got some time... So let's think what I can write...
(Jared sits for 15 minutes straight)
Ehh, I can't think about anything. There's so little in my...
(Jared hears a quite loud brawl down the living quarters)
Damn, what happened?!
(Jared runs to investigate, leaving the HDD in record mode. He returns after 25 minutes, having lots of scratches and abrasions on his face. Meanwhile, the HDD recorded the sounds of a really bad smackdown in comm relay)
That bi-- Oh, HDD, you're still here, just in time!
(Jared jumps on the crew bed and starts typing angrily in the HDD)
So, our dear Kelly had allowed the snake to browse the Avenger, just because the snake is that trustworthy, yeah right!
And the snake went straight to the area where Zoe was on a lesson with her mentor (====note from Crepar -- the one who's featured in WOTC and UFO Defense/TFTD, but I think I've got the man in enough trouble for including him in my LPs, so I'll just call him "Zoe's mentor" from now on====) in software engineering.
The snake just walked in there, Kelly has given this ugly beast a card pass for almost every non-critical door on the Avenger!
And it started to treat Zoe like her slave, crapping on her skills and the memory of William Thomas, one of the best XCOMs and Reapers to exist.
Kelly saw that, but she didn't stop it. Probably because I was on good terms with Zoe... you selfish brat.
A fight was bound to happen - and that's what I heard 25 minutes ago. It was a hell of a brutal wrestle - and sadly, that damn snake was winning, smacking Zoe in all places. Bet the snake didn't expect me to kick right into its neck from behind!
Zoe could at least use a breather... but then Kelly joined the brawl, screaming and aiming her fury at me.
That angering battle wasn't exactly flawless on my side (Jared touches his bruise on the nose and feels some pain) - but you can't dodge my special Face-It Maestro without a brief knockout!
The sounds were so bad that John had to arrive into the action.
And boy, MASSIVELY PISSED he was! I can understand that, when you interrupt a network talk with your daughter with something you desperately wanted to avoid!
Can I say that I've felt almost the same grip impact Wagnerson got when she tried to replace John with another XCOM soldier in commanding duty... All of us did, in fact.
After a really nasty conversation I've lifted Zoe from the metal floor. All I've got was a push into the side.
I've never see Zoe so angry. Me and John tried to calm her down and she thanked us a bit, but that didn't help. She screamed like Wagnerson at both Kelly and the snake. After that...
Zoe decided to quit, citing that she "doesn't want to be near xenophiles and her pet crooks". I desperately tried to stop her, but - in words of Zoe:
"Thanks for helping me, Jared, but while this ==a really vile curse== is here, count me out".
(quietly) And then Zoe left us for good.
(Jared suddenly screams) NICE JOB, KELLY!!!
(Bradford has heard the scream and came here to see Jared being all heated-up. Also seeing his HDD on the bed. John understood that this HDD holds the diaries Jared records)
Bradford (angry): Good news for you, Hill. I've thrown the alien out of the Avenger. Jane won't be able to get it back on board while I'm in charge. I'm sorry this all happened.
Jared (somber): Thanks, John. That means something.
Bradford (angry): Jane herself will stay, however. She helped us a lot with Resistance management.
Jared (hopeful): Maybe she can be thrown out as well?
Bradford (angry): Sorry, but no. I did demand that she doesn't boss you around anymore. You're required to stay out of her way too.
Jared (sad): But she'll be the end of XCOM as I remember it. John, think twice...
Bradford (angry): I said it, the Commander agreed, end of story, Hill, don't begin to challenge me! (suddenly becomes more relaxed) Damn, I sound almost like twenty two years ago... Remember out of what hellhole Leslie caught you, John...
Jared (sad): Maybe there's something I can do then for you, John?
Bradford (more cheerful): Yes, you can, Hill... I'd be pleased if you help me to arrange a call with Amelia again.
Jared: That I can do.
Bradford: Good. Then let's go. Your HDD will help too, take it.
(Jared and John go to the bridge so that Bradford could speak to his daughter uninterrupted again)
