XCOM Chimerian Squadron - Episode 27 // HandBraked

Hello again.
Yup, it's been almost a month since I did anything of value here, but today, I continue controlling our highly offensively friendly squadron of various incompatible frenemies in a city that otherwise doesn't care they actually have a base of operations nearby.
Expect yet another rant from me regarding voice acting of this game, because I have something to say in this episode!
And that will be the topic of description instead of Jared Hill's life (it will continue normally in the next episode).
So, let's do this then:
Where I've been all this time: not gonna lie - I was writing my degree paper, but it wasn't really all that difficult. Instead, when I've thought about doing this exact episode of Chimerian Squadron, I just called a break because this game annoys me whenever I see it in Sony Vegas. I could have did, of course, some MOD Warfare (I actually thought about that lately) again or to pull Sonic 1 Replaythrough or XCOM 2 TSE out of development hell, but - CS sucked all willpower out of me for the time being, leading to "super laziness mode".
My close friend, meanwhile, recommended one rather famous japanimation game called Character Five Nobility. I really couldn't stomach doing CS, so I simply went into it, despite it being japanimation. That will lead to the second point.
Character Five Nobility mini-review: I was prepared for the worst, but, surprisingly, the game was actually quite alright. It had some sexual crap (though, a lot less than I usually expect from every existing japanimation - but still, I could use the option where it simply doesn't exist - no innuendos, no body part focus, no sultry jokes etc.) and its gameplay was relatively lacking, reminding me of early PS3 games I've seen on some YT playthroughs, but the presentation, music and story were actually great, with some unexpected twists.
In fact, the twists made me think what I could actually do to improve my own storytelling, so that you would enjoy it more, Watchers and Commenters. I really did enjoy that game overall.
So, in a nutshell, when comparing to Chimerian Squadron, because it was turn-based tactics as well:
== Negative ==
Gameplay-proper: UFO Defense-style and FiraxisCOM XCOMs have one of the best turn-based gameplays I've ever experienced - that, in a much less fun form, DOES include Chimerian Squadron; Character Five was clunky, it was no contest in that category
Magic abuse: I'm a tech enjoyer, so it was a given; Chimerian Squadron at the very least uses ADVENT tech (and a whole lot of pre-alien junk, however)
Sexual revoltness of japanimation segments and beach moments
== Positive ==
Developers actually somewhat cared when doing Character Five!
No major bugs!
Music: battle music not so much (--I'VE NEVER SEEN IT COMIIIIING!!!--), but Dark World ambient music including the Grindaground , as well as Cityscape is really nice; granted, Chimerian Squadron does have pretty good tracks here and there, but Character Five's music is simply better in most situations
Story/Regular: Character Five offered a nice story where I actually could believe in characters which formed confidant links with JC Denton and UNATCO-NSF (C5 allows you to name your protagonist and thing he controls, I went with Deus Ex terminology for fun).
Story/Characters: Every major character of C5 beats everyone of Chimerian Squadron, I like them all. Yellow-haired Academy Rampager and smooth-furred Black Softpaw were absolutely amazing.
Character voice acting is superb - and it DOES include Erica from this game, which is stellar and a real joy to listen! On a side note, Quinn from Serious Sam 4 is voiced by C5 student council president - strange, isn't it?
Story/Jokes: outside of japanimation segments, jokes actually work and don't cause facepalms of Chimerian Squadron
Presentation: C5, outside of japanimation segments, actually offered an artstyle which wasn't fugly, disgusting or scary to look at, the locations themselves had good art design, and not hastily reused assets of their predecessors; compared to Chimerian Squadron, talking heads actually move their mouths and eyes
Exploring: despite having almost 6x the length of Chimerian Squadron, C5 allowed me to enjoy the surroundings instead of being confined into an outdated warehouse so the game length wasn't on my nerves
So, while Chimerian Squadron slightly won in gameplay (and not being japanimation), Character 5 Nobility obliterated it elsewhere - mostly in the advertised spots as well. I don't regret spending time there, and I
