XCOM: Chimerian Squadron - Episode 7 // HandBraked

Hello again.
After a horsecrap mission which was featured in the previous episode, I was left scared about what the future holds for me.
But Luck (TM) decided that I've suffered enough, so we are going to have an operation that's quite a lot better this time!

Bah, if the food in this prison sucks. Stomaching everything will be a challenge. And yet Essentuki says that "this is what Resistance had to eat, while you had your fair share of supplies". Really, this half-rotten globs? I didn't think that it was that bad!
While XCOM won that operation where I should have been gloriously, I've spent another week interrogating the Muton. Trying to understand what exactly drove him to fight instead of that "urge for combat" excuse, I've found out some interesting details about his past. According to the translator, he was born on an alien supply ship. What is more funny is that the Ethereals did so for almost every alien they had in their fleet.
How much space they had for their troops anyway? I remember something about "legions of alien forces" - and the cryocapsule excuse won't cut it, because as I remember, there have been quite a lot of them during 2015.
But alright. When I've asked how it's like to live under the alien control on supply ships, he responsed simply by "boring, nothing to do except for maintenance". Despite the simplistic phrase, it basically means that there were no culture at all. I communicated with my colleagues in interrogations, they responsed the same. Strange, really. Maybe this will allow us to do something with the aliens once we're done with the still-standing hostile forces.
Quite amusing is that this Muton actually seems much less dangerous than I've thought. Yes, he's being of a beastly look and really scary-looking, but he currently suppresses his instincts in fighting a big sandbag that was on the warehouse lately. Still, during this time, he actually didn't make an attempt to rip my spine out.
Essentuki, however, is another story. I did write already how she forced us to eat "the Resistance food". Her voice there were cold and absolutely merciless. And the look in her eyes is actually frightening, more so than this Muton displayed me so far.
Yesterday, she caught me and Nic in one of creepy dimly-lit corridors. I don't know if this is her hobby of sorts honestly. But there we had a talk, a VERY unpleasant one! Despite her not screaming at us (and not cursing too), it was plainly seen that she was holding the unstoppable wrath behind her face. And the theme of talk was... the recent massacre in Novosibirsk.
To put it mildly, she was coldly pissed about Kelly lying that "the Bugtown massacre took out more than a thousand lives". The real point of talk was that we went with this point of view after all. I tried to respond back by redirecting the discussion, but she didn't let me to, responding with these words:
"Showing ADVENT's atrocities to the entire world and then lying about your own failure which caused a nuclear strike on my hometown, XCOMs? This is the tactic used by the aliens and PR mediabots - and I hate them both. Don't dare to downplay this - if you don't persuade your courageless speaker to uncover the real truth, I'll do it myself".
Can't disagree with Essentuki for that, but the tone with which she told that was on par with the quotes of the Chosen I've heard during our Liberation War. Her manner of speaking is overall really creepy - she speaks well-formed phrases usually, but with that tone of herself uncaring for anything.
The interrogations by her, which I was witnessing, were really top-quality of spine-chilling. Essentuki is a fan of torturing, I can say that. The tricks of water interrogation, using the infrasound devices and finding out the types of food which aliens can't absorb - it all was done by her. But the most creepy part is when she locked herself with the aliens, with no ability to see her beyond the walls. After she leaves the cells, the alien inside is visibly shaken and trembling in fear.
Am I getting to know the fact that Essentuki is a really powerful psionic? I'm not sure yet, but she can't scare the aliens that easily on her own unless there's a mind invasion involved!
Both Ax'Omow and Essentuki are a real pieces of work. And I fear that long-term, Essentuki might be a lot more dangerous for XCOM than this Muton...
Bleh, this food really makes me sick. I need to get out and breath the fresh air before I puke here...
