Zelda: A Link to the Past [SNES] Playthrough #07, Upgrades at the Pond of Happiness
This is video #07 in my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the SNES. Link has acquired the Power Glove and Pendant of Power from the second dungeon, the Desert Palace. He has also purchased Zora's Flippers, which allow him to swim in dark blue water. Now, he can take advantage of Lake Hylia's Pond of Happiness to upgrade his Bomb and Arrow capacity.
First, though, he visits a treasure stash in southwestern Hyrule near the desert entrance (time 0:33). The treasure stash is hidden under a light green boulder. Link can come in here repeatedly to get 50 Rupees per visit until his wallet is bursting.
Once he has his full allotment of 999 Rupees, Link travels east to the Wishing Well on Lake Hylia (time 5:00). Whenever Link has thrown in a total of 100 Rupees, a fairy appears and offers to increase his Bomb capacity or Arrow capacity. Until his first upgrade, he can only throw in a maximum of 20 Rupees per visit. After his first upgrade, he can throw in a maximum of 50 Rupees per visit. He can upgrade his Bomb capacity up to 50 and his Arrow capacity up to 70.
If he brings a full wallet to do these upgrades, he will only have to refill it once at the treasure stash.
After some running around, Link finally completes his upgrades (time 26:34).
Next, he will head up Death Mountain, which dominates the northern part of Hyrule.
Thanks for watching!
