This is video #09 in my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the SNES. Link has just collected the last Pendant in the Tower of Hera on Death Mountain.

He pays a brief visit to Sahasrahla near the Eastern Palace (time 1:08).

He also pays a visit to Aginah in the desert (time 3:07).

Then, Link drains the water around Watergate (time 4:05). He grabs one of the fish flopping around and takes it to Kakariko Village. He delivers it to the bottle salesman in exchange for some money and items (time 5:43).

Then, he runs down the running man (time 6:00). Probably should have run down this guy earlier.

From northwestern Kakariko, Link then makes his way north to the Lost Woods (time 6:30). In the Sacred Grove, he uses the Book of Mudora to read the pedestal (time 7:17). Then, in a scene that is still amazing, the fog over the woods clears, and he removes the Master Sword from the stone! Sahasrahla then speaks with him telepathically.

However, Zelda contacts him telepathically as he leaves the grove (time 8:30). The news is not good.

The Master Sword is a nice new weapon. More powerful than the family sword, it also shoots sword beams when Link's health is full.

When Link quickly arrives at Sanctuary, but it is too late (time 10:18). Farewell, Master Obi-Wan.

In the northwest part of the graveyard, Link moves the upper-left grave (time 11:05). This drops him into the secret passage just below the exit to Sanctuary. Through a breakable wall to the west, Link can open chests with 3 Bombs, 300 Rupees, and 10 Arrows.

Link next climbs all the way back up to Death Mountain to reexamine the stone monument near the Tower of Hera.

When he steps through the tile to the other world, he no longer changes, thanks to the Moon Pearl (time 14:52).

West of the Tower of Hera, he examines the monument with the Book of Mudora and acquires the Ether Medallion (time 15:33). This powerful magic controls the upper atmosphere and polar wind, but it also sucks magic like crazy.

Now, I am going to show a little trick for getting to the Dark World early. And not only the Dark World, the north-central section of the Dark World. The first step is to take the lower east exit from the first screen of Death Mountain in the Dark World (time 16:34). Link needs to play with the Magic Mirror by the eastern rim. When Link manages to get onto the rim, he can leap down and walk on top of what is apparently a pit. Then, heading south, he should exit to the south, which deposits him in the screen that would be west of the Magic Shop in the Light World. The graphics will be a bit glitched, but that can be fixed by going to the Light World and returning.

I won't be exploiting this trick to get any Dark World Heart Pieces early, so I return Link to the Light World at Hyrule Castle.

Thanks for watching!
