#03: Portable Fusion
I have now begun to assemble a stock of accumulators and solar panels to increase my power network, allowing them to build up to great numbers. I have also been producing processing units in order to craft some power armor and a portable fusion generator; this will give me access to some amazing quality-of-life improvements such as: damage absorbing shields, speed-increasing exo-legs, and personal roboports for robotic deployment on-the-go!
After arming myself with my new combat shotgun, complete with piercing shotgun shells, and shielded power armor, it's time to push back the biters while my solar equipment builds up. On returning, it's time to put the roboports to the test and slap down some solar panels all around the bridge, getting up to 350+ panels, adding over 20MW of usable power!
With robot frames being made and more research being done, it's getting more and more feasible to begin construction on a larger-scale factory; but in the mean-time I've got some iron throughput woes and overall ore deficiency to solve.

ABOUT THIS SERIES:
My goal is to launch as many rockets as possible before the next big patch release (alpha 13) which is "scheduled" sometime mid summer. I say that because the Wube team is more likely to post-pone it if they think it needs more work, but they have said that they're going for June. As of beginning this series, I still have only launched a rocket one time, and I haven't gone large-scale... yet.
ABOUT THE GAME:
Factorio is an early access game that has recently released on Steam, but it has been in development for the past four years by the Wube Software team. This is a game about gathering resources to research technology, craft machines, process materials, and defend your base against angry biters, but this isn't just another survival/crafting game... no no! The name of the game is 'automation', and Factorio is all about finding ways to engineer solutions to your ever expanding horizons. We don't do manual labor here; instead we use our creative problem-solving skills to design a factory to do all the hard work for us.
