#640 Ehrgeiz (ARC) Bosses (3/3): Django playthrough.
A playthrough of the boss Django in Dreamfactory/Square's Ehrgeiz for the arcade.
Django (or White XII, as Silverzero so rightfully called him) is the final boss of the game. He has the same issue (or advantage, depending on how you see it) that we'll see with Gon in Tekken 3 and Yoda in SoulCalibur IV; he is innately smaller than the rest of the cast, and so is not affected by a number of their default moves. It now dawns on me that the main antagonists of this game are two FF7 characters and a wolf-thing. What were they even going for with this game? It's a bit of a mystery.
Django didn't really stand out to me, seeming more like a bonus character in a Tekken game than someone you'd expect as the final boss. He has a charging headbutt attack which launches the opponent into the air as well as this triple puppy-slap combo, reminding me all the more of Gon. Which isn't exactly a positive comparison, it must be said. On the whole I don't find him particularly interesting as a character, and most of his difficult comes from working out which of your attacks will and won't hit him. What's more, his second form takes the form of a bonus boss battle during the credits, which makes even less sense. This game is a bit of a clusterfuck, it must be said.
And that ends the arcade version of Ehrgeiz, but weren't not done with it yet by a long-shot. What do you do when you'd been stereotyped with a label? Well, apparently you embrace it wholeheartedly, according to the PS1 port of this game, which I'll be covering next.
