I've recently discovered that A Hat in Time has support for 3D positional audio. However, there is zero info on this online outside of what is told to you in the options menu. As it turns out, you can get full spatialized audio in A Hat in Time using the X3DAudio HRTF wrapper and it sounds great. All you need to do is extract the X3DAudio HRTF .dlls into the same folder as A Hat in Time depending on which version you're running (32-bit or 64-bit).


Settings:
Windows Control Panel: Stereo
IRC_1037 HRTF tables placed in "HRTF" directory and renamed to "MIT_KEMAR_32000.mhr", "MIT_KEMAR_44100.mhr", "MIT_KEMAR_48000.mhr", and "MIT_KEMAR_96000.mhr".
