In this video, After the War, released in 1989 for the Atari ST by Dinamic.
Following the typical '80s setting, this game takes place in an alternate reality, where the earth is shattered after a nuclear war. And what about humanity? They fight each other to survive. You play a survivor in two different sessions: the first is outside where we can take a look at a destroyed New York; the second is underground inside the metro tunnels. Your mission is easy: go from A to B (and then from B to C) killing enemies and bosses and remain alive. You can use your punch, kicks or gather and use weapons dropped by the enemies, such as chains and guns. There is also a time limit in the form of radioactivity level.
This game has a strange look that I like, the sprites are colored and well animated, the background gives the idea of a destroyed city. The audio is composed of only sound effects but are totally digitized and well made. The playability is good but controls are a bit laggy and unresponsive and once finished you aren't encouraged to finish it again.
Here you'll find loading screen and gameplay of part one until second boss who were a bit graphically bugged.

All footage taken from original hardware machines and upscaled to 1080P.

Let me know what do you think about the video in the comments below but, most important, Enjoy!!!
