Beetle PSX - CPU Overclocking - 60fps Quake II
NOTE: Any audio crackles you hear is simply because my CPU is not fast enough to keep up. The CPU core is still interpreter-based, so it requires a lot of CPU horsepower when doing CPU overclocking. Once Beetle PSX starts getting a dynamic recompiler CPU core, you will see a big boost in performance.
My specs:
Intel Core i7 7700k
16GB RAM
Titan XP
CPU frequency scaling (overclock): 350%
GTE overclock: off
GPU rasterizer overclock: 8x(native)
I also have vsync disabled so you can see the slight tear line in the middle of the screen because of that.
It's possible to get rid of the framerate dips where it drops briefly to 40-ish by further increasing CPU overclock, but my system is already struggling to run this game at a locked 60fps as-is so I'm not doing that here.
