Big Ambitions had just entered early access 0.3 when I captured the footage (in September of 2023) for this playthrough, and was my main inspiration for this early access series. The Steam page calls this business strategy/simulation game "revolutionary," and it is at least very unusual in concept. Effectively, it is a business "tycoon" style game about developing small businesses in New York City. The developer, Hovgaard, is officially based in Denmark, but for practical purposes this is a Spanish project, as all of the current developers are based there. I have never played, nor seen, a game like this before, and it is already one of my favorites, even if, as many people have said, it remains very incomplete.

The game was initially released in alphas and betas, being developed on a very small scale, but was eventually released as an early access in March of 2023. Development has progressed rapidly since then, supported by revenue from the (payware) early access release on Steam. I bought it in August of 2023, and have played both the early access 0.2 version and the newer early access 0.3 version released at the end of August 2023.

Like the other early access videos in this series, I have to apologize for the sloppiness of this playthrough, but this is by necessity, as I'm very busy at my paid job at the moment. My bumbling through the gameplay on this video will hopefully give you more information than if I managed to do everything perfectly, as I hope it illustrates the pitfalls of this relatively intricate game.

One final disclaimer is that when I made this playthrough in September, I was a few patches behind where the game is now, so some of the bugs I identify in the playthrough have since been fixed. Hopefully we'll see a lot more development of this game in the future, as the potential seems hard to overestimate.
