Train Sim World 4 was released by Dovetail Games for Windows 11 on September 28th, 2023, with backward compatibility to Windows 10. There is also a Playstation version available, although I didn't test it. I did check the Playstation store, and it appeared that it was no longer possible to buy Train Sim World 4, although the DLC's were still available.

Train Sim World 4 represents an incremental improvement from Train Sim World 3, and comes with three new routes (at least for the default game), these being the Antelope Valley route on California's Metrolink system, the Peterborough to Doncaster section of the British East Coast Main Line (ECML), and part of the S-Bahn Vorarlberg on the Austrian OBB. I opted for the S-Bahn Vorarlberg in this playthrough.

I already have Train Sim World 5, but I figured I should do this video anyway to show the historical progression of the game, as I have already done Train Sim World 2020, 2, and 3. I’ve now played every version since Train Sim World 2020, and I like all of them, so if you’re buying just one, I would recommend comparing your computer to the system requirements for each one. What is especially nice about this game series is that newer versions are compatible with older DLC’s, so you don’t sacrifice much other than system resources by choosing a newer version.
