Having survived the fight against police officers and managed to escape the fairgrounds, Booker continues on further into Columbia, intent on finding a way to get to Monument Island before he is hunted down by Columbian police and military forces, which have been placed on full alert following the violent events on the city's fairgrounds. As he looks for a way to reach the Monument Island, Booker learns more about Columbian history and its society, discovering that Columbia itself was built in 1893 in an run-up to the World's Columbian Exposition in order to serve as a state-of-the-art symbol of American exceptionalism and American economic and industrial power near the end of 19th century. However, relations between Americans and Columbians collapsed in 1901 after Columbians intervened in Boxer Rebellion without the approval of US Congress in order to protect the Americans trapped within Peking's Legations Quarter, ultimately leading to Columbian seccession in 1902. While making his way through the city, Booker also finds the headquarters of the Fraternal Order Of Raven, an organization of Columbian zealots and racist fanatics obsessed with maintaining Columbian warped world-view and history, in which Abraham Lincoln, American president who abolished slavery in the United States in 1865, is seen as an "apostate" who deviated from "God's will" for America in which all races except for white Protestants, would be reduced to slaves obidient to their masters while his killer, John Wilkes Booth, is seen as a saintly figure and venerated as such. In addition to that, Order Of Raven took it upon themselves to avenge the murder of Comstock's wife, having formed an entire cult dedicated to tracking down and killing the culprit...
