Blizzard Buffalo - MegaMan X3 (Metal Cover) Arranged and Performed by Hemi

This song... This video... Has been a wild journey. Might as well start at the beginning.
After Simons theme I wanted to take a step back and develop some new ideas. I was originally working on a bass jam of the Moon theme from Ducktales but the idea was kinda stagnant after a couple of weeks so I ended up scrapping it since I didn't really like where it was going. At that time 2 things were happening: Thanks to a conversation with Ro Panuganti I found myself in more musician centered discord channels and was learning things about video and audio production by leaps and bounds, and because of those new connections I found myself working on the bass part I did for Skarmillions video (go watch that its sick). At the time, Gamegrooves was running a quickfire cover challenge for winter themed music and I thought in my infinite wisdom "What if TSO did blizzard buffalo?" And I ran with it. Within a week the intro was kinda coming together except for 1 thing: My guitar would not stay in tune long enough for me to get a good sounding take. I tracked and re-tracked and every time no matter how much I was sure I was locked in tune, it always sounded off. Some strings super flat, some super sharp. Anyone who knows what a floating bridge is knows why I was having problems and truthfully, I just wasn't up to the challenge of trying to keep the accursed thing in tune.

So I got a new one, and within another week (we are officially in JANUARY at this point with NOTHING to show for the past 2 months) things started to come together. I got everything recorded and mixed but was faced with my next challenge: Make a music video that doesn't look like it was recorded in my mom's basement. (Nothing wrong with that mind you but I'm almost 30 and have lived on my own for 10 years lol) I set up my green screen again and this time cropped it a bit so I could tack it to my wall. I knew I could perform in front of it pretty much same as I was doing with my other staging, but I wanted snow. Snow, as it turns out, is kind of a pain to make look real. I don't have access to after effects and even if I did I would have no earthly clue how to use it so I found some stock snow clips I could use but..... the backdrop has a noticeable loop point.
And it bothers me.... A lot....
After no luck finding anything better and getting all of the footage I needed recorded, I settled in for a long week of applying chroma and making it all work, setting up background and foreground elements, blending colors, SO MUCH RENDERING (I probably did 9 renders for this video) and a very necessary mental health day, here we are.

I really do try to put my all into the stuff I put out. I feel like the effort shows and at the time I'm typing this, I'm just over the moon that its finally done and I can share it with you all. I hope you enjoy it!
