The year 2017 saw one of the biggest miracles in PC gaming history: the release of the first true source port for Blood. Finally, after 20 whole years of having to play Monolith's classic FPS with low resolutions, bad mouse input, and choppy framerates, it was now possible to play this game in glorious 1080p at hundreds of FPS thanks to M210's Java-based BloodGDX. It's also now possible to play Blood with custom difficulty settings so you could have Extra Crispy enemy placement but with Lightly Broiled health and damage.

At some point, M210 decided to integrate OpenAL Soft 1.15.1 as the main audio API. As such, it's possible to attain either 7.0 surround sound or binaural audio with BloodGDX. You will need to read the links below for instructions. The 3D sound in Blood is just okay, though. You won't get the same immersive experience as you would in an Unreal series game, but it's still more noticeable than in some of my CMSS-3D videos. I wish EDuke32 would implement OpenAL Soft so we could get HRTF in both Duke Nukem 3D and Ion Maiden.
